Wisconsin Department of Tourism Fall 2004 Campaign Summary

Once considered a shoulder season that received comparatively modest ad support, fall has grown rapidly in popularity and is marketed accordingly. In 2004, we will continue to promote Wisconsin as the best Midwest destination for fall colors. The focus will be placed on the stunning natural beauty of autumn in Wisconsin while promoting relaxation, festivals, events, seasonal sports and romance. Samples of our fall campaign follow. Television will showcase Wisconsin’s spectacular fall season. Fall colors are a perfect backdrop to relaxing blues music in two 30-second spots and four 10-second spots.

A combination of local and regional newspaper and magazine ads will reinforce the television messages and showcase Wisconsin’s many fall offerings. This includes a general “Place Called Happiness” ad with and without a promotion mention, a “Great Wisconsin Boating Adventure” ad and promotion, a “Wisconsin Fall Splendor” newspaper insert with cooperative advertisers from around the state.

Ads promoting seasonal events are in development and will be appearing in print and in this space soon.

Online Marketing

Throughout the season, travelwisconsin.com and our seasonal e-mail newsletters will carry a look and feel that is distinctly fall. Additionally, a combination of editorial, ads and links promoting fall in Wisconsin will run on jsonline.com, chicagotribune.com, startribune.com, lake-link.com, trail-link.com. Ads will promote fall color reports, activities, events and promotions.

Technical Specifications

If you have Quicktime installed on your computer and still can't view the spot, you may need to update to the most recent version of the Quicktime Player. The print ads are saved as simple .jpg files and should display in your browser.
